Our Mission: The Mission of FBC
Greenacres is simple: To exalt Christ and Glorify God through the
living out of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The mission of the church is the same today as it was on the Day of
Pentecost almost 2000 years ago. Methods have changed. Cultures have changed. Languages have changed. But the
message is the same. The call is the same. This call is
the heartbeat of FBC Greenacres. Our mission expresses the
truth that we are God-centered and saturated. We exist to
bring God glory. That is the chief aim of man. That is
why we were created and why are afforded fellowship through the
sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Holy Scriptures teach us about
the awesome gift of grace known as the gospel. It is through
this gospel that we glorify God through the exaltation of Jesus. We live out the gospel in an event and a process. First, the
gospel affords the life-changing event known as salvation. Salvation occurs when man places his faith in the gospel (namely the
death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus) and is born-again. This event then begins the process of sanctification. This is
the life-long process of man becoming more and more like Jesus. Ultimately, this is God's will for each and every one of us; that we would live out the gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing glory to
God. That is our mission. Not religiosity. Not emotional experiences. Not one-time happenings. An
event. A process. Centered on and flowing from the
gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision: The Vision of
FBC Greenacres is to see our five biblical priorities of purity,
worship, prayer, service, and wisdom lived out through our
fellowship though extension into the community around us.
While the mission of the church is the same for every local body of
believers, we believe that God impresses upon the hearts of each
local fellowship the express purpose for the existence of that
particular fellowship. All that means is that FBC Greenacres has
been given a specific purpose and function based on the sovereign
will of God. Our vision is dynamic, exciting, and unique. It is our
vision that every "member" of our fellowship live a life that
expresses our five biblical priorities for the purpose of glorifying
God and enriching the lives of people within our fellowship and the
surrounding community. Our vision includes a group of people
involved in authentic, impactful relationships with Jesus and with
others. Our success will be measured by lives changed and our
biblical principles being exercised, not by numbers or activities.
